This rule applies to everyone on our worksites, regardless of whether they work for us or not, and in real-terms means that we commit to:
  • keeping our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in a clean and hygienic condition and storing, maintaining and caring for it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions,
  • inspecting our PPE, including our uniform, before beginning work and reporting any worn, damaged, defective or out-of-date parts to our team leader,
  • only using PPE which has been approved for use by Urban Utilities and which complies with the relevant Australian Standards,
  • using our PPE for its intended purpose only and not modifying, interfering or misusing it in anyway, and
  • meeting the minimum PPE requirements of the worksites we enter or the workplace activities we are asked to perform. (PRO424)
