An Application for Tankered Waste Approval is required where a waste transport company seeks to discharge wastewater to Queensland Urban Utilities' sewerage system. For details see our Tankered Waste Management Plan
. Queensland Urban Utilities may seek further information following receipt of this application. If you require assistance with this application, call 13 26 57 and ask for a Queensland Urban Utilities officer to call you back.
It is a pre-requisite for Tankered Waste Approval that the waste transporter holds an Environmental Authority (ERA57) for the transport of regulated waste in Queensland. Such authority is obtained by application to the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection.
A waste transporter may enter into an agency agreement with QUU and the Environmental Regulator to provide waste tracking data in a format other than Waste Transport Certificates. These agreements must comply with section 35 of the Environmental Protection (Waste Management) Regulation 2000.
Where an agency agreement is entered into, a waste delivery docket conforming to QUU’s requirements must still accompany each load of waste discharged to QUU’s sewerage system, and all waste tracking data provided to the regulator for such waste must also be provided to QUU. QUU will contact you to discuss your proposed agency agreement.
