Under the South East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act 2009, Urban Utilities is required to review the Water Netserv Plan every five years.

The Draft Water Netserv Plan describes how Urban Utilities will deliver water and sewerage services to our customers across the service area, with a commitment to provide for future generations. We have worked closely with each of our shareholder Council’s to achieve their endorsement on the plan. The Water Netserv Plan will also be finalised for submission and endorsement from the Queensland Government Minister for Planning.

All queries on the plan, or requests for maps can be directed to Netserv@urbanutilities.com.au

The Water Netserv Overview and Guide summarises our commitment to maintaining existing services, planning for and improving future water services for our community. Broadly the purpose of this document is to inform and educate our customers and the community about:

  • what the Netserv Plan is and what it represents;
  • how we will be working with our Councils, what
  • do they look like now and what are the plans for the future; and
  • the standard of service that we provide to our retail customers.

The South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act 2009 requires Urban Utilities as a distributor-retailer to create and review a Water Netserv Plan every five years.

The Water Netserv Plan is made up of two parts, being Part A and Part B. Part A is the section that is created for our customers. Part B is for Urban Utilities to use as a corporate planning tool.

Feedback received during the consultation period will guide finalisation of the Water Netserv Plan (Part A). Following consideration of all submissions, a response to the key themes emerging from the public consultation will be communicated to industry.

Once reviewed by Urban Utilities, and with endorsement from the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning, the Water Netserv Plan (Part A) will be submitted to our board for adoption in 2020.
