The water pipes in some sections of Archer Street and Coronation Drive, Toowong are nearing the end of their serviceable life.

We will be upgrading sections of these pipes to ensure the reliability of the water network is maintained and we keep the water moving to your taps.

Our delivery partner, Diona, will work progressively to install the new water main replacements in the following locations:

  • Archer Street - works will commence on 15 February and be completed prior to Coronation Drive works.
  • Coronation Drive - works will commence on 3 March and completed in two three-week stages, weather and conditions permitting.

Our delivery partner, Diona, will soon start work on upgrading our water pipe along a section of Archer Street, Toowong (between Coronation Drive and Glen Road) from Monday 15 February 2021 for approximately three weeks, weather and site conditions permitting.

Archer Street Toowong

Diona will progressively install the new water main replacements in the following location:

  • Coronation Drive
What's happening?

Most of these water pipes are located underneath the roadway, however a section of the pipe is located in the council verge.

To complete this work, our construction crew will be digging down to expose the old pipe and fittings and laying the new piping. Temporary water outages will occur when all the new piping has been laid, and connections to your building are removed from the old piping and re connected to the new piping.

Our work in Archer Street will be completed during the day to minimise the impacts of works on the local resident and businesses. Notifications will be sent for all planned temporary water outages when we connect the new water main to the existing water network. All work will be completed in accordance with regulator permits and approvals.

All of the work will be completed during the day, between 6.30am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

What else to expect?
  • Archer Street entrance from Coronation Drive will be closed, with access for local residents and businesses via Glen Road only
  • Works will commence on Archer Street from Coronation Drive end to Glen Road end
  • The bike lane located on Glen Road, and pedestrian/footpath access on Archer Street, including Archer Walk, will remain open to local residents and businesses for the duration of the works
  • Limited street parking will be available within the works area as it progresses along Archer Street, with roadway/street parking to be reopened when possible
