We are upgrading the water network in Bromelton to cater for future growth and development in the area.
The project is funded by the Queensland Government’s Building our Regions program in association with Scenic Rim Council and Queensland Urban Utilities.
Work will commence in late September 2016
to install approximately six and a half kilometres of trunk water main and will be completed in about 12 months
, weather and ground conditions permitting.
The trunk water main will be installed from the rear of the Helen Street Water Treatment Plant and extend west towards Boonah-Beaudesert Road, Bromelton.
The majority of the alignment will be constructed using open-trenching, with some directional drilling required under the Logan River and Bromelton House Road.
Work will occur from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm
What can I expect?
There will be some vegetation clearing, including tree removal in accordance with Council permits, to allow excavation for the new water main along Boonah-Beaudesert Road, Bromelton. A qualified arborist and a fauna spotter will be engaged to supervise the clearing.
There will also be changed traffic conditions at some locations along the alignment while work is underway. Residents are asked to travel through the area with care and observe all signposting, speed limits and any directions given by traffic controllers.
Private property access will be maintained at all times.
The project team is committed to minimising the construction impacts on local residents. We will keep you informed about progress and provide regular construction updates for directly impacted residents. We will also work closely with the project contractor to ensure every effort is made to keep any disturbances to a minimum.
