Sewer rehabilitation work is currently underway in various Brisbane suburbs.

Our contractors access sewer maintenance holes and carry out inspection work including relining and use of laser profiling and CCTV cameras on the sewerage pipe network.

What's happening?

Work at each site location is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete, weather and site conditions permitting. Program hours are from Monday to Saturday, between 7am and 5pm. Some occasional night work might be required due to low flow conditions.

What can I expect?

The community may experience the following impacts from this project:

  • Changed traffic conditions  with traffic controllers on site to manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
  • Construction-related noise during project work hours from equipment and heavy vehicle movement (will not apply to all work sites).
  • Odour impacts due to the nature of the works.
  • Safety lighting to assist with any night works required.

There should be no interruptions to sewerage services for customers as a result of these works. Should access to sewer maintenance holes located in private property be required, the project team will contact property owners in advance.

We are committed to excellence in water and sewerage services that enhance the liveability of our communities.

As part of this commitment, our Sewer Rehabilitation Program is underway across Brisbane to improve the reliability of the network and extend the operational life of the trunk sewers by 50 years. Sewers are identified for rehabilitation via an ongoing program of condition monitoring and assessment.

  • Notification brochures distributed to local residents prior to the commencement of works.
  • Doorknock to customers directly affected by works.
  • Information and updates available for customers via the Queensland Urban Utilities Contact Centre.
