Urban Utilities has been advised an incident has occurred at Deshon Street in Woolloongabba while work was being carried out by a contractor on a sewer upgrade project.

We understand a person has been retrieved from an excavation pit by emergency services and is in a stable condition in hospital.

The incident is believed to have happened after 9am and has been reported to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, which is onsite undertaking an investigation.

We’re saddened this incident has occurred and we’re supporting our contractor and the authorities with the investigation.
