Queensland Urban Utilities was called at around 7am after a car hit a privately owned fire hydrant on Logan Rd near Kessels Rd at Upper Mount Gravatt.
The above ground shopping centre hydrant was damaged causing water to flow over the road during peak hour.
Our crew responded to assist with turning the water off.
Motorists are advised to take care in the area. Police and traffic control are on site.
