Queensland Urban Utilities is inviting kids to meet The Rolls family at this year’s Global Fiesta at the Ipswich Festival.
They’ll be special guests at the Global Kids Village which runs from 2pm – 8pm this Saturday, May 13 in Queens Park.
Queensland Urban Utilities spokesperson, Michelle Cull, said The Rolls are your regular family of five, except they’re made out of cardboard toilet rolls.
“There’s mum, Penelopee Roll, dad, Lou Roll, their three kids, Donny, Tinkle and Lulu and the family dog – Sausage Roll,” she said.
“The Rolls star in a series of videos aimed at raising awareness about the importance of only flushing the Three P’s – pee, poo and paper.
“At our fiesta stall kids will be able to watch the videos, take selfies with large cardboard cut-outs of the characters and make their own toilet roll ‘mini-me’ to bring home.”
Queensland Urban Utilities staff will also be keeping the kids hydrated by handing out free re-usable water bottles.
The Global Fiesta is a highlight of the 2017 Ipswich Festival, which runs until May 14. Queensland Urban Utilities is sponsoring the festival for the second year running.
Ms Cull said it was a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, with plenty to see and do including music, food, arts and performances.
“So if you’re looking for something to do with the kids this Saturday that’s fun and free, come along to the Global Fiesta at Queens Park from 2pm–8pm.”
“With the help of The Rolls, kids, and even parents, may discover a thing or two about what you should and shouldn’t flush down the loo.”
