Bottled water being handed out at Wavell Heights
Please attribute the following quotes to Queensland Urban Utilities spokesperson, Michelle Cull.

Some elevated homes in Wavell Heights and Nundah may experience intermittent low pressure or no water over the coming days while we replace a section of water pipe on Edinburgh Castle Rd, Wavell Heights.

The large trunk main initially burst on Saturday morning, and unfortunately burst again on Saturday night. This can occur as pipes are under pressure while they’re being refilled.

Following these bursts, the pipe has been temporarily repaired and planning continues for a permanent fix.

We’ve rezoned the network to direct as much water into the area as possible.

While the temporary repair is in place, the Edinburgh Castle Rd trunk main isn’t able to operate at full capacity. This means some residents in elevated areas may intermittently experience low pressure or no water, especially during peak usage times in the morning and evening.

Free bottled water is being provided to the community in the library car park in Primrose Lane, off Boyd Road at Nundah.

Traffic control is in place on Edinburgh Castle Rd near Vale St and motorists are advised to take care.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience and we thank the community for its patience. Our teams are working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible.

We’re providing regular updates via our social media channels and website.
